Cannes Film Festival Line Up...

00:35:00

.

Hello My Lovely's,

I am so sorry to do this to you in the same week however I wanted to cancel tonight's review of 'The Runaways' and talk about the exciting line up that Cannes Film Festival has presented to us earlier today!

Of course Baz Luhrmann who is finally being given the privilege to open the festival with probably the most anticipated film of the summer, 'The Great Gatsby'. I studied the film last year in my English Literature course and was a huge fan of the novel, so you can imagine how excited I am that Gatsby is finally being put back on the big screen. I also so happy with the choice of Gatsby as I really cannot imagine anyone being as epic as Leonardo Dicaprio already looks and hopefully he will finally get the Oscar he deserves.

Over films competing in the Competition Are..

  • Nicolas Winding Refn – ‘Only God Forgives’
And the Closing film is from Jerome Salle with 'Zulu'. I haven't heard much about this film but as soon as I do I am hoping to get the news out as soon as possible. However I have no doubt that the film will be brilliant if it has been chosen by Cannes.

Over the course of the festival other films will be shown which I will be following along the way and I will be trying to do a constant update of the festival during it to make sure everyone knows what is happening at every moment.

At this point of the festival I suggest the ones to watch are Nicolas Winding Refn's 'Only God Forgives' as his relationship with start of the film Ryan Gosling is one that has always portrayed strong responses such as the hit film 'Drive'. Of course it also has to be 'The Great Gatsby', I have the highest hopes for this film and am hoping to bring more details on this film in the future.

I will review 'The Runaways' in the future, however I really wanted to talk about Cannes due to the information we have been presented with at the moment.

Until Next Time...
