Hello My Lovely's, 

So this is the first of two new films that I have to introduce to you and I have to say they are both very different. 'Starred Up' is the film that broke records last week as it was announced that it had received eight nominations at the BIFA Awards. 

With an incredible cast including Skins star Jack O'Connell, Homeland Star Rupert Friend and Ben Mendelsohn, director David Mackenzie's film tells the story of Eric (O'Connell), a young man who is transferred early from a young offenders' institute to adult jail after becoming too violent. 

Struggling to assert himself with the prison officers and inmates, Eric fins himself coming face to face with his father Nev (Mendelson), a man who has spent most of his adult life in jail also. 

However it is not long until he is forging allegiances with the other prisoners and learning where his rage is coming from with the help of prison therapist Oliver (Friend), who may just help him learn the rules to survive in Prison, as forces work to bring him down. 

The film is due to open in the UK and Ireland on the 21st March 2014, so keep an eye out on the blog for more news about it.
