RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES REVIEW...

Hey Lovelies,

Now I have to admit that I am not the biggest fan when it comes to 'The Planet of the Apes' series, however with this all new cast and special effects, 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ was enjoyable to watch. I don't know why but with James Franco, Tom Felton, Frieda Pinto and Andy Serkis taking the leads I found that I could watch the film without getting bored.

While it is no surprise that the special features are better than the first film, it is a welcome to see. They are able to bring more to the plot by using these effects compared to the first film, as you are more aware of keeping the plot going.

Acting wise it is a lot better and easier for more modern audiences to understand, as you see some of the best performances within the film, from the most recognised stars. Franco is the biggest shock in this, as he is not what you would expect in this film. He is confident in the role, but with a completely new air to him, that isn't allowing audiences to see him as the druggie performer he likes to portray.

As well the performance from Tom Felton highlights his talent and break away from Harry Potter really well, as he isn't too weak without his usual fellow actors. He plays an excellent villain and will go far in cinema if he continues to perform like this.

But let's go back to the special effects for a second, as you have to give all the film’s success to Andy Serkis, because without him this film would have been a flop, and without him being willing to wear that outfit for hours on end, we would not have the new apes.

A lot of work has obviously gone into the film and with a sequel coming up in the summer, it is well worth a watch, however I think that it will mean more for the fans. No denying that it is better than the first film, but it wasn't something I would watch again, even though I enjoyed it.

Therefore I am not messing around with this…
