ORSON WELLES RETURNS WITH THESE HIT FILM REVIEWS...

09:27:00

Hey Lovelies,

After growing up with someone who adores the films of Orson Welles, I thought I knew a lot about them, until I reviewed a number of his films that have been released today! Below are four reviews, for three different films, but with one thing in common Mr Welles! Away we go!

Falstaff Chimes at Midnight Review

Out of all of the films in which I watched that feature Welles, ‘Falstaff Chimes at Midnight’ provided me with his most powerful performance to date. Like no other film in which he has done, the star manages to use his talents to provide audiences with a performance that seems made to fit his talents.

Following King Henry I, the film sees a king break down over his son lack of response and the way in which his staff is treating their roles and jobs. Welles manages to provide a new image of the king that those who saw it when it first came out will be able to bask in and spot the ways in which he did so with so much magic on screen.

While the script can be hard to follow at times, the talent is the real shining moment, and even when the audience struggles to keep up with it, Welles and the other actors don’t let the lack of attention to detail fail them, keeping their expertise up to date.

Therefore I am giving this film…

Too Much Johnson Review

As Welles first film, this is the role that caused him to break out into film heroics, as his talent is shown a lot in this silent film. Any audience will be touched by his director role, as the performances that his characters provide and the struggles, in which they deal with, when there is a case of mistaken identity within the films plot, are done to delicately.

The footage that many feared was lost, has reappeared in a big way and audiences and fans of Welles should watch this film to see the true talents that he had as a creator. With a solid plot, it is easy to follow and hooks audiences in as the silent genre makes you want to watch on and find out what is going to happen next to the characters.

Now with it being released for the first time in the UK, this short piece, is one that will now become one of his biggest films I believe, as it touches the audiences hearts in such a way that once you have watched it, you are left with a feeling to want to watch it again or go and discuss the beauty of it with those who have also seen it.

Overall there is never too much with this rating…

The Immortal Story Review

With the film being one of his last features, Welles’ adaptation of the famous novel will be a joy for all his fans to watch, as he has captured the story so well. He has made his actors play out a version of the characters that is so award worthy, you want to hand them the figurines yourself. Each character has been captured with a heart and the skill behind it is a joy to watch as a film lover.

Taking apart each scene, bit by bit, the men on screen are able to show audiences a different side to the characters that were resting on the pages of the classic novel, by making them stand out as their own person. You feel as a viewer that you must watch on to find out more, and that isn’t because of the plot, but due to the way in which Welles has kept so much back from the viewer.

He has made the two men so mysterious, that the film never lacks any interest and you want to dive into the world so much more. The conclusion ultimately being one of a satisfactory level, as he embraces the world of the book to give fans of both features an incredible ending.

Therefore the story is definitely immortal with this…
