Hey Lovelies, 

There are not many film screenings I have been in where I have been able to see the cast in the flesh, before actually watching them strip down to their flesh, but this happened this week when I went to a screening of ‘Magic Mike XXL’ and it was brilliant! Much like the film was! 

Following Mike and many members of the team, as they go on one final journey, the film is a lot lighter and easier to enjoy and follow than the first film. Beginning a few years after the first film, Mike has moved on from the stripping scene and started his own business, however when the team tempt him back to join them for one final journey he can’t resist. 

Channing Tatum’s Mike is back in top form from the moment the film begins and it is a joy to see him back on the big screen, doing what he does very well. His character is more easy going in this film and seems to be enjoying himself, which makes it an easier journey for the audiences to enjoy this time around. 

There is not a moment in this film that makes you want to jump in and shake the cast, but more so a feeling which says go on and allows them to get on with what they are doing, because they seem to be having a lot of fun and that reflects into the audience watching it. The script was more comical and the characters have been changed and developed into more likable figures compared to the first film.

While some may be worried about the loss of the characters that were in the first film, such as McConaughey, there honestly is no need to do so, as the new characters in the form of Pinkett-Smith’s MC and Heard’s new love interest figure are ones that captivate the screen and give it a fun energy that will make you want to go out straight after the film and find your inner queen. They have fitted into the form of the film in an easy manner, that makes you wish that they were in the first film to give that the fun edge in which this one had. 

All of the creative minds behind this film have made a film that has done something that many films fail to do so and that is that it is a lot better than the first film. While the first film was a clever introduction into the world of male stripping and the characters, this film developed them and allowed audiences to have fun with them. There was no moment in which audiences were left uncomfortable or annoyed by the figures in the film, but actually enjoying them being back and a key scene to this is the scene in the petrol station, which allows audiences to see the difference between the first and second film straight away. 

It may seem to audiences at the start that the film could go down the same route as the first film, but the filmmakers take you away from that path quickly and show you we are going on a very different journey and that is what makes this one such a success. 

Not only is the acting on top form and a lot stronger in this piece, but they have made something that everyone and every audience will enjoy around the world, because it makes you smile and laugh with ease. 
Therefore it gives me great pleasure to reveal that this XXL journey is a hell of a lot more magical that the first film and the creative minds behind it have created a sequel that is better than the first film and a lot more enjoyable at that lovelies.
