Doc Martin is a show that I have grown up watching because of my mum. Now back on DVD and Blu-ray as it releases its eighth season, the show is still as strong as ever.

Following the mishaps of a village doctor, who really shouldn't be a doctor, played brilliantly by Martin Clunes, Doc Martin captures the illnesses that cause a riot in the small village.

After coming to terms with being a father in the last season, season eight goes back to basics. Whilst still struggling as a parent, the show captures more of the real worries Doc Martin faces with his unbearable patients.

For many, the latest season is one that can be enjoyed by all, but it is mostly a treat for those who have watched it throughout. Capturing the beauty of Cornwall and the funny people that star in the show, it is a midweek delight that is easy to fall into from the moment you begin.

Whilst it may not be a strongly appealing show to a young person, it is very much an easy to binge watch series. Ask my mother if you don't believe me!
