Chocolate is a huge element of our home and so is football. Having grown up with four boys, all of which who supported different teams, there was a lot of merchandise and fan memorabilia around our house, including kits for the teams they both supported and played for.

Still to this day if a match is on the TV and all of them are at home, they will gather and enjoy it with lots of shouting and moaning about players. So, when they hear about this news from Cadbury, I am sure they will be very excited.

To celebrate the Premier League, five-a-side fans and Cadbury have joined together to celebrate players of past and present, who have lit up our screens and pitches with their skills.

In a new survey, Cadbury found that women play five-a-side longer than men each week, by 3 mins, as they come in at 1 hour and 10 minutes, with the appeal for the game being how inclusive it is to all. However, when it comes to naming their favourite players, they all agreed in the same amount of time that the likes of Beckham, Henry, Ronaldo, Gerrard, Schmeichel, Ferdinand and Terry would still be chosen over today’s footballers including Salah, Kane, Aguero and Cech.


All of the research has been carried out, as Cadbury launch a new Ultimate 5-A-Side Tournament competition, which is giving you lovelies the chance to play alongside Thierry Henry, Jamie Redknapp, Jimmy Bullard, Shay Given and Alex Scott! An absolutely amazing opportunity lovelies!

Speaking about the competition and how to make a successful five-a-side team, Thierry Henry, Cadbury ambassador said: “Five-a-side is a great way to bring people together, it’s easy to organise and play. Since I started university (it’s now been nearly two year's since I graduated!), I have been on a bit of a health kick. Before I went in 2012, I had pneumonia twice in one year, suffered awful asthma attacks and many other illnesses that affect my health, as well as hating all forms of exercise, which all equaled to me being very unhealthy.

After challenging myself to get fit and eat better, I took the following January by the horns and started working out, eating three meals a day and trying to make as many healthy changes as I could. Following these little differences, I went from a size 18 to an 8 and it inspired my mum to also get fit. However, she didn’t need to really when I see how much running around after my family she does and the homemade foods she makes.

Together we have been helping each other and her portion sizes have been the thing to take a real dip, but it can be hard to find a good meal with suitable portions sometimes. So, when I was asked if I would like to trial the new Heinz and Weight Watchers ready meals, I instantly said yes to help ease some pressure off her.


With tons of new recipes and meals to choose from, we were fortunate to receive some meal vouchers to try them all. Perfect for Friday or Saturday night treat days or as something special during the week, the Tikka Masala meal we found was filling and full of flavour. In fact, my mum even stated that she had found a new curry favourite whilst eating it.

It is sometimes worrying to me how much salt is in ready meals, but Heinz and Weight Watchers have got everything under control. They know what to do and they have done it. For a quick, easy and healthy ready meal these are the way to go. My mum and me were and still are super happy that these have come out in time for summer when cooking is the last thing we want to do on a hot day. when cooking a healthy meal normally comes last.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be little? Like dolls house small? Or small like when you were at school? I often find myself thinking about what I would do now if I was little again.

Over the past few years, it seems like there have been many filmmakers who have been thinking the same thing. Or similar things anyway, as the world embraced new worlds, including the epic film Downsizing.

There so, when I was sent this new feature (I will admit I didn’t write it lovelies, as I want the writer to have the credit), looking at some of the best pocket-sized characters in film I couldn’t wait to share it. I hope you all like it lovelies…

Ever wish you could be a fly on the wall? Or wish you could shrink down just that little bit more to get that child’s fare? Or even just slice an inch off to stop the constant hitting of the head on every doorframe and protruding beam? But how would you feel about shrinking down to five inches tall, permanently?

To celebrate the release of Downsizing, out on Digital Download, DVD and Blu-ray May 28th, we’ve been taking a look at some of the more petite characters to grace our screens - a small bunch that can pack a powerful punch!

Downsizing: In an overpopulated world, with a mundane 9-5 routine and having to adhere to a strict tight-pocket attitude, wouldn’t you look for an escape? That’s precisely what Matt Damon and Kristen Wiig decided to do after speaking with their shrunken friends who told of the luxuries and grandeur of their lives after undergoing the new process known as Downsizing.

Both hilarious and inspiring, Downsizing shows both the pros and cons of opting for a different life, the adventures to be had and the endless possibilities to be captured - a pertinent tale in today’s world. 

Stuart Little: A firm family favourite, Stuart Little is a heart-warming that tells the story of the Little family who fall in love with a little white mouse named Stuart. Far from smooth sailing however, Stuart’s joys of being adopted were soon diminished as he tried to settle into his new family. Undergoing a whole host of trials and tribulations due to his size, Stuart had to take some big steps for such a small mouse.

A film filled with both danger and adventure, Stuart Little teaches us a lot of lessons with regards to acceptance, loyalty, family and most of all, to never underestimate anyone just because of their size!

Honey I Shrunk the Kids: Guinea pig or child? Most kids ask themselves this question at some point after having to endure one of their parent’s slightly more wacky ideas – whether it’s one of Mum’s slimey casseroles with a questionable tinge to it or Dad’s idea to go on a camping trip in the middle of the wettest summer on record, we’ve all been there. But how about a parent who has created a shrinking ray? This was the reality of scientist Wayne Szalinski’s kids who, after a baseball incident, end up miniscule after accidently knocking their father’s shrinking ray gun.

A nail-biting adventure ensues and shows that everyday actions and objects can turn into the most dangerous of situations. Both emotional and hilarious, Honey I Shrunk the Kids truly highlights the importance of family and working together in the trickiest of situations.   

Ratatouille: Pixar’s heart-warming and fun flick Ratatouille introduced us to Remy, a lovable rat with a nose like no other! He can sniff out the highest quality ingredients and – more importantly – rat poison. What makes this little guy even more special, though, is his incredible natural talent for cooking. Teaming up with a clumsy kitchen assistant, Alfredo Linguini, Remy uses his tiny size to his advantage and hides in his hat, cooking up a storm in a struggling ex-five-star restaurant.

Supporting his new human friend (who has named him “Tiny Chef”) Remy steers Linguini through good times and bad, proving that friendship comes in all shapes and sizes.

Revealed for the first time in the UK at the London Film Festival last year, Downsizing seemed to be a film with a stroke of genius within it. And it definitely has it!

Starring Matt Damon and Kristen Wiig, as a husband and wife team, the film captures the events that happen after scientists discover how to shrink people to fix the world’s population problem. Volunteering for the project, the pair finds a new tiny life, yet it isn’t all as it may have seemed to them.

Director Alexander Payne is known for his out of this world films and this does not disappoint in getting you to think about a different place. Or should I say being a different size. He manages to make you think, feel and embrace his crazy ideas with ease, as the world comes to accept the small beings they may have to become in order to survive.

Starting the feature in a fun and witty way to introduce the idea to audiences, the film takes a darker turn about halfway through. The small world is being destroyed quickly, due to humanity, allowing the representation of what we are doing to our planet to shine through.

As for the acting, Damon and Wiig are a power team when it comes to this film. Whether it be funny moments or the more dramatic ones, the bounce off each other to present an enjoyable pair who definitely need to return to the big screen soon.

Overall Payne has created a clever and interesting film that will have you thinking about your economical footprint at every turn. No character is left behind and the world they live in is eye catching and thought provoking.

If you know me well then you know that I love the 60s! In fact, I am jealous of parents for getting the chance to experience and in my dad’s case party with some of the legends! Resulting to documentaries and films from that period to help me with my undying love, I found myself falling under the spell of Michael Caine’s My Generation.

Taking audiences on a trip through the world of the 60s, from the glamourous fashion to the music and films of that era, Caine goes behind the camera to talk to some of the biggest stars from the UK about the decade. With Sir Paul McCartney, David Bailey and Twiggy to name but a few appearing, there is a whole new realm to be accepted.

If it isn’t the soundtrack you end up falling for, it is their honesty. The world couldn’t need something to look back on as much as it needs this. The decade help gives birth to the wild 70s and if it can help bring freedom to the 2010s, I am all for it. There are a few moments however that do go on. Certain clips are not often needed, such as the amount of Zulu ones, but this is only a small matter in an otherwise excellent film.

If you are a culture fan or someone like me who is obsessed with the swinging 60s then this is not one to be missed. When placed in the room with friends, the stars open up more so than ever before and bring a fun documentary to life.

Whilst the world was watching the real Royal Wedding, Channel 4 has already shown it! Prepared to top the big day, it called upon its hit comedy, The Windsors, to air its own version of events.

Following the lead-up, main feature and the aftermath of the big day, the show didn’t hold back in ridiculing the royal family. And in a hugely funny way.

The Windsor’s has been a powerful show to watch in recent times, with moments so silly they shouldn’t make you laugh, but do, and this wedding take is just as perfect. Harry and Meghan are captured in a completely new and inventive way by the writers, who have just gone to town on reinventing them for themselves.

Each wedding scenes feels like something the writers want to happen on the big day but know it won’t. So, they have used it to make this special episode instead. A perfect treat that feels like it gathered the best comedic tweets from the big day and made them happen. Before the ceremony had even taken place.

When watching The Windsors, it is best to leave all rational thoughts behind. And this episode is no exception. Yet, as someone who adored the big day, as many of you probably did, it is nice to relive it in a different way. A fun and over the top way. A way that people who were happy about the wedding or not can enjoy.

With Cannes Film Festival over for another year, the world of film is basking in what they have just seen. But, out today for the first time ever on DVD, a Cannes cult classic is returning for all to see.

Smash Palace was the second feature for Roger Donaldson, starring Bruno Lawrence and Anna Jemison, in a film about the marriage between a racing driver and his wife. After nursing him back to health, the couple moves to New Zealand to start their married life. But blissful it is not.

Full of Cannes angst, the film shows the testing times between man and wife and the effects it has on them. There is a darker side to this New Zealand based feature than the ones we have gotten recently and it shows the diversity that the country has to offer.

For those who have not heard or seen anything about the film, it is a powerful release that will stay with you for a long time. If not for the story but for the way it captures their home.

Amongst the rain, new royal baby and mini heatwave, April was a bit of a mad month. Personal and blog issues came to head and my family went into meltdown.

But along the way, we got through them and I had some amazing moments. Here are just a few...

The Avengers: Infinity War: April for me was all things Avengers! I will openly admit I was jealous of people who saw it early, have fallen deeply in love with everyone in it and even told a famous designer to go and see it! If you haven’t yet I can’t suggest you do more aha!

A Quiet Place: Avengers wasn’t the only film though that won me over. At the start of the month, I went to see A Quiet Place and loved it. Like an epic and long episode of Stranger Things, this will have you wanting to be as quiet as possible and loving the kick-ass family.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: After hearing about this show throughout award season, I finally found the time to enjoy it. And enjoy it I did! If you love 60s outfits, an amazing leading lady and more jokes than you can think of, then this is the uplifting show for you.


Tezenis Trousers: Every July, I try to get away for my birthday and this year I am going to be doing so in style. When I first saw these, I fell in love with them but didn’t buy them. After a few weeks, I still couldn’t stop thinking about them, so I had to go back and get them. Unfortunately I can't find them on their website, but they are a culotte version of these without the trim.

Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion: With the changing weather and my health wreaking havoc on my skin, plus with the lack of time in the morning, I have fallen for in shower body lotions. Especially the aloe vera one by Nivea, which smells amazing and has completely transformed my skin for the better. Silky smooth legs are now a thing of the present in my life.

Buckwheat Pasta: Most people are aware that I’m trying to eat as healthy as possible. However, along the way, my mind has told me that some foods that are good for you are bad and I am trying to stop that and introduce them back in. Starting with this pasta, which is now my go-to comfort food with broccoli, Quark, green beans and brussels. All good and delicious.

Queer Eye: Another show I found myself falling in love with and using to help me in every step I take in life now is Queer Eye. Each member of the team is so lovable and you can’t pick a favourite. From the opening episode to the hilarious firefighter finale, it left me feeling so happy that there was this amazing team spreading love and happiness around!


Amazon Fire 7 Tablet: Around the middle of April, I had a complete meltdown one night. In ultimate over the top fashion, I couldn’t handle the fact that my tablet just broke. There so, I was on Amazon as quickly as possible getting another one. Using Amazon Prime Now, I ordered the tablet and got it within two hours of my selected time. I was so impressed and would definitely use it again, especially for a quick food shop.

Fresh from Warner Bros, a brand-new take on The Jungle Book, Mowgli, has landed thanks to the amazing Andy Serkis. A man who knows how to make a motion capture masterpiece!


Mixed with live action and 3D features, the film follows a young Mowgli, as he is raised by a pack of wolves in the jungles of India. As he discovers the world and ways of the wild, under the guidance of Baloo and Bagheera, he becomes at one with the animals in the jungle. Apart from one – the threatening tiger Shere Khan! And the humans he hasn’t faced before…

Starring Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Naomie Harris, Andy Serkis, Matthew Rhys, Freida Pinto, Rohan Chand, Peter Mullan, Jack Reynor, Eddie Marsan and Tom Hollander, the film is due out on the 19th October lovelies and you will not want to miss it.

With last week being all about the Royal Wedding on the blog, I feel a little bit lost today. I don’t know what to watch, what to get excited about or know how to get myself a prince aha! Who else is with me?

If so, I have decided that we need to have a little bit of fun. Streaming/binging fun that is lovelies. So, I have looked all over the Amazon Fire TV stick, all the apps on it and found the best things to binge to help us get over the wedding (as if!) and prepared for summer.

Love Island, Netflix: Sadly, now that Prince Harry is married I don’t think I am going to find love with a royal. But, I may just find a relationship like one of those on Love Island (Camilla and Jamie are goals!). 14 episodes in two days may have been a bit extreme but I couldn’t stop myself lovelies. You have been warned!


The Bold Type, Amazon Prime Video: Before the second season begins, get yourself sat down and watching this show. It is like a perfect mixture of Girls, Gossip Girl and Sex and the City all rolled into one with very modern themes. Love being one of them.


The Incredibles, Disneylife: Back this summer for a second outing, now is the perfect time to kick back and watch the first film all over again. You will have forgotten all about the Royal Wedding in no time.


Plebs, ITV Hub: Go to a completely different way of living and do what the Romans would not do in this comedy. Four seasons in and Grumio is still my everything and more. You will love it whether you are a comedy fan or not.


The Windsors, All 4: If you can’t get enough of the royals lovelies, then get stuck into this bunch who give you a very different take on them.


The Royal Wedding, BBC iPlayer: If like me you can’t get over the magic of the big day and all its perfect moments, then simply head to the BBC iPlayer app and watch it all over again!

Forced to work as a team on a case, two detectives, one human and one puppet must discover who is out to get the former cast of “The Happytime Gang,” a beloved classic puppet show.

Due out later this summer lovelies, you are honestly not going to want to miss it…

In a world where no one should be afraid to be different, the film Black Venus tests every boundary possible with its very outrageous storyline!

Following a young woman, who finds herself being exploited by an older man due to her big bum, the film already has an out there plot. But with the uncomfortable storyline, it makes for a viewing experience you won’t forget anytime soon.

The world within the film is refreshing due to the nature of it. Yet, it is hard to tell if it is welcome or not. It isn’t really a film you would watch again and again; however, you can praise it for the fresh direction it took.

Overall, Black Venus is a story that will hook you in and share some of the most compelling acting. Though be warned you will leave your viewing of it unsure about the whole thing.

Good Afternoon Lovelies, 

I am going to admit something now and I am not sure that this has anything to do with the blog, but I want to discuss it and be as open as possible. I have a weird phobia/thing about mono-brows, but only on myself.

I really don’t have any worries about the way people look after their brows, because everyone is free to look and do what they like with their own aha! However, for me, if the section between my browns and the stray hairs surrounding them are kept clean I am happy.


However, this does mean that I can spend a lot of time removing those little stubborn hairs that are the bane of my existence. Or were should I say because I now have an amazing new product from Hollywood Browzer, which removes them easily.

I will admit when I first used it I was a little terrified. I just kept picturing Sweeney Todd and knowing my clumsy self I thought I might remove my face instead of just a few hairs. Yet, happily, I can reveal that was not the case lovelies! Once popped up, I just gently run the product across my brow line and it removed all the little hairs quickly. No more plucking it would seem - thank God!
After seeing what I had done, my mum who has a few chin hairs (don’t tell her I did this post) decided to try it and it removed them just as good. And with two products included in the box, it means that we can both have one.


With a summer break, work life and a whole host of outdoor adventures, my life and getting ready time has just got quicker, whilst my eyebrows have never looked so good.
